About the author
Roland Schrapp was born in 1957 in Kirrlach, Germany, and grew up in Philippsburg, Baden-Württemberg. From an early age, he developed a deep interest in spiritual teachings and meditation. After several years of studying Buddhism and gaining his first practical experiences with meditation, he encountered Anthroposophy and Rosicrucianism in 1981, at the age of 24. This encounter marked the beginning of a lifelong engagement with the spiritual sciences and, in particular, with the lecture cycles of Rudolf Steiner.
His professional path initially led him into public administration. From 1979 to 1981, he studied Public Administration at the University of Applied Sciences in Kehl, graduating with a degree in Public Administration (Dipl.-Verwaltungswirt [FH]). From 1981 to 1997, he worked as a civil servant at the Regional Computing Centre in Heidelberg.
Alongside his professional career, his interest in holistic approaches to health and human development continued to deepen. From 1996 to 1998, he completed his training as a naturopath (Heilpraktiker) in Mannheim, Germany. After passing the required state examination and obtaining official authorization from the public health authority, he was licensed to practice. From 1999 to 2009, he worked as a licensed naturopath in his own private practice in Northern Hesse, Germany. From 2009 to 2020, he continued his professional work in collaboration with various clinics.
His spiritual and anthroposophical studies have remained a central thread throughout his life. From 2006 to 2012, he led an ongoing study group at the Anthroposophical Centre in Kassel, where he devoted himself to the intensive study and discussion of anthroposophical teachings.
Since retiring from professional practice in 2020, Roland Schrapp has focused on writing and publishing study books for Anthroposophists who already possess a solid foundation of knowledge and wish to deepen their understanding of specific aspects of Rudolf Steiner's work. Owing to the considerable international interest expressed in numerous letters to the author, the books are being translated into several languages.
